OGRA announces new petroleum prices effective January 1, 2025. Diesel prices increased by PKR 2.96 and petrol by PKR 0.56 due to international market fluctuations.
The Government of Pakistan’s Finance Division has announced revised prices for petroleum products, effective from January 1, 2025. According to a press release issued on December 31, 2024, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) adjusted the prices in light of recent fluctuations in international markets.
The new prices for the next fortnight are as follows:
| Product | Old Price (PKR/Liter) | New Price (PKR/Liter) | Change (PKR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| High-Speed Diesel | 255.38 | 258.34 | +2.96 |
| MS (Petrol) | 252.10 | 252.66 | +0.56 |
The decision to increase prices reflects the global trends in petroleum markets. The rise in diesel prices by PKR 2.96 per liter and petrol by PKR 0.56 per liter will take effect immediately.
This price adjustment is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to align domestic petroleum prices with international market trends while ensuring minimal burden on consumers.
