Banks to Stay Closed on January 1st, 2025: State Bank

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all commercial banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks across the country will remain closed for public transactions on January 1st, 2025, in observance of the ‘Bank Holiday.’ This holiday marks the beginning of the new year, and all banking services such as deposits, withdrawals, and other financial transactions will not be available on that day. Customers are urged to complete any banking activities before the holiday to avoid any inconvenience.

Although the public will not be able to access banking services on January 1st, the State Bank has clarified that all bank employees, including those working in development financial institutions and microfinance banks, will still report to work as usual. The closure only affects public transactions, meaning the banks will continue their internal operations.

This closure provides an opportunity for bank staff to observe the annual holiday, but customers should ensure their banking needs are addressed before the first of January. Whether it’s paying bills, withdrawing cash, or completing transactions, it’s important to plan ahead to avoid disruptions in your financial activities.

As the new year begins, staying informed about holidays and bank schedules helps in better managing your finances. Make sure to complete your banking tasks before the closure to ensure a smooth start to the year.
