Government Residence Allotment in Punjab Colleges Centralized by DPI

Government residence allotment in Punjab colleges is now centralized, as DPI Colleges Punjab takes full control and revokes principals’ authority statewide.
New Policy on Government Residence Allotment in Punjab Colleges
The Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges), Punjab has issued fresh instructions regarding government residence allotment in public sector colleges.
This decision applies across Punjab.
And it changes how things work.
From now on, only the Directorate will handle the allotment of government residences.
Principals’ Allotment Powers Withdrawn
Earlier, college principals had the authority to allot residences.
That authority is now officially withdrawn.
Any new or future allotment will be:
- Processed directly by DPI Colleges Punjab
- Issued only after formal approval
- Managed under a centralized system
No exceptions.
Instructions Issued to Colleges Across Punjab
All Directors of Education (Colleges) have been directed to share complete and verified records.
Colleges Must Submit the Following
- Full details of all available government residences
- Information provided on the prescribed proforma
- Copies of existing allotment orders
- Latest salary slips of officers living in government residences
This step ensures proper verification of house rent deductions under existing rules.
Why Salary Slips Are Required
The Directorate wants to confirm one key thing.
That is whether:
- House rent deductions are being made correctly
- Deductions follow government rules
- No unauthorized benefit is being taken
Transparency is the goal.
Strict Compliance Is Mandatory
The instructions are clear and firm.
- No deviation is allowed
- Any violation may lead to penal action
- Rules will be enforced under relevant service laws
Colleges are advised to act promptly and carefully.
Official Issuance and Authority
The notification was issued by:
Dr. Syed Ansar Azhar
Director Public Instruction (Colleges),
Punjab, Lahore
This directive carries full administrative authority.
If you’re part of a public sector college, treat this as priority.
