Punjab Government Declares BS (16 Years) Equivalent to MA/M.Sc (16 Years)

The Government of Punjab, School Education Department, has officially issued a notification on September 9, 2025, regarding the equivalence of BS (16 years of education) with MA/M.Sc (16 years of education).

Notification Details

According to the notification No. SO(SE-III)5-98/2025, the Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee (QEDC) met on July 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the committee room of the School Education Department.

During the meeting, it was decided and approved that a BS degree (16 years of education) will now be considered academically equivalent to an MA/M.Sc degree (16 years of education).

This decision provides clarity for degree holders in Punjab, especially in relation to recruitments, promotions, and further education opportunities.
