Punjab Schools to Introduce IT, Agriculture, and Health Sciences

The Punjab government is taking a groundbreaking step by introducing technical education in punjab schools from the next academic year. This initiative aims to prepare students for the future by equipping them with practical knowledge and skills.

According to Punjab’s Secretary for School Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, textbooks tailored to technical subjects are being printed to support the program. Education authorities across the province have also been asked to gather data on student enrollments in middle and high school technical courses.

What Will Be Taught?

The curriculum will cover key areas such as agriculture, information technology, health sciences, and fashion design. These subjects are not just theoretical but are designed to provide hands-on skills, ensuring that students are ready to meet modern workforce demands.

Wattoo stated that the primary goal is to help students gain skills that can lead to professional success. This initiative will make public education more practical and aligned with industry needs.

Why This Matters

By integrating technical education into the school system, the Punjab government is empowering students to excel in real-world careers. This move will not only enhance job opportunities for young learners but also contribute to the region’s economic growth.

This step reflects a vision for an education system that goes beyond academics, focusing on skills that truly matter in today’s world.
